In the UK, Adnam’s Brewery has a new star: it’s East Green beer is brewed in a process that is carbon-neutral. The beer is made from local, high-yielding barley and hops that are naturally resistant to aphids, reducing the need for pesticides. In addition, the beer is put into a lightweight glass bottle, and the brewery itself is energy-efficient, in that the steam from the brewing process is recycled and used to heat the next batch.
